Boise, Idaho - The Wheat Foods Council (WFC) has appointed Sheri Glazier as its new Executive Director, with her appointment taking effect on Aug. 18.
She brings experience in farming, nutrition, and public education to the national organization as it begins a new phase of leadership.
Glazier is a wheat farmer from Loyal, Oklahoma, and a registered dietitian.
She founded Dirt Road Dietitian, a program that connects agriculture with nutrition science, and also created GROWN, a platform that encourages communication and learning between farmers, nutrition professionals, and consumers.
Since 2016, Glazier has served as a consultant dietitian for the Oklahoma Beef Council.
Earlier in her career, she worked as a clinical dietitian with Mercy, a physician-led health system serving communities across Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.
She also holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nutritional sciences and dietetics from Oklahoma State University.
“Sheri’s ability to speak confidently about wheat production and nutrition from personal knowledge and experience, her online presence, and her ability to communicate and connect effectively with consumers, is going to be an enormous benefit to the organization,” said Britany Hurst Marchant, chairwoman of the Wheat Foods Council. “After a year of evaluation and reconstruction of the organization, I am confident in Sheri’s ability to take this opportunity by the reins and guide WFC into a productive future.”
The leadership position became vacant in May 2025 when former president Tim O’Connor stepped down to pursue other opportunities.
During the transition, the executive committee and other council members managed the organization while reviewing its structure, vision, and mission.
The council also partnered with Roots & Legacies, a consulting firm based in Manhattan, Kansas, to evaluate the organization and help define the leadership role.
Founded in 1972 by six state wheat commissions, the Wheat Foods Council works to promote grains, fiber, and carbohydrates as important parts of a healthy diet.
