Pawtucket, Rhode Island - Vandemoortele USA has announced the appointment of Curt Coolidge as its new general manager.
He takes over the role from Thierry Schmitz, who is moving into a new leadership position at the company’s global headquarters in Ghent, Belgium.
In his new position, Coolidge will oversee Vandemoortele’s operations across North America.
His responsibilities include guiding commercial strategy, supporting business growth, and helping the company expand its presence in the frozen bakery market.
He will also focus on acquisition management, growing the company’s BakeUp portfolio, and strengthening key product categories.
Coolidge brings more than two decades of experience in the U.S. in-store bakery sector.
Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions with both private equity-backed businesses and major bakery organizations.
His experience includes serving as general manager of Sara Lee Frozen Bakery LLC, where he helped lead business operations and growth initiatives.
In addition to Sara Lee Frozen Bakery, Coolidge has worked with several well-known food and bakery companies, including Hostess Brands, TreeHouse Foods, and Conagra Foods.
His background gives him extensive knowledge of bakery manufacturing, product development, customer relationships, and market expansion.
Vandemoortele believes Coolidge’s leadership experience will support the company’s long-term goals in North America.
The business continues to strengthen its position as a supplier of premium frozen bakery products while expanding its product offerings and customer reach.
