New Acquisition Strengthens Production Reach Supply Chain and Customer Support

Gonnella Baking Expands Frozen Dough Manufacturing

Schaumburg, Illinois - Gonnella Baking Co. continues to grow its national footprint with the acquisition of Lineage Manufacturing, LLC, a frozen dough producer located in Centralia, Washington.

Financial details of the deal were not shared. As part of the transaction, Gonnella acquires a 50,000-square-foot production space inside a larger cold storage facility operated by Lineage Inc.

The acquired business now operates as Gonnella Frozen Products, LLC.

The Centralia facility adds advanced production capabilities to Gonnella’s network.

It features modern sheeting lines, automated production systems, and robotic stacking and conveyor technology that links production directly to warehousing.

The site also includes an innovation center focused on new product development and recipe improvement to meet changing retail and foodservice needs.

Company leadership says the new West Coast location improves access to regional markets and shortens delivery times.

With this addition, Gonnella now operates three frozen dough manufacturing sites across the United States, located in Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Washington.

This broader geographic reach improves production flexibility and strengthens supply chain reliability, helping reduce the impact of transportation and freight challenges on customers.

Lineage Inc., a temperature-controlled warehouse real estate investment trust, continues to operate a frozen distribution center in the same Centralia building.

The company also provides long-term production, warehousing, and distribution support for Gonnella nationwide.

Both companies describe the transaction as a strategic partnership that supports growth and operational efficiency.

Founded in 1886, Gonnella Baking Co. remains a family-owned business with deep roots in Chicago. Over time, it has grown into a major supplier of baked frozen and frozen dough breads and rolls.

Today, Gonnella produces more than five million pounds of product each week across its manufacturing locations, serving customers across the continental United States.
