BakeMark Appoints Sean Leer as Chief Executive Officer

Pico Rivera, California - BakeMark has appointed Sean Leer as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a major leadership transition for one of North America’s largest bakery ingredient suppliers.

Leer succeeds longtime BakeMark executive Jim Parker, who will continue serving as executive chairman.

The leadership change was announced by Clearlake Capital Group, BakeMark’s private equity owner.

Leer joins the company after serving as Chief Executive Officer of GS Foods Group, where he helped expand the food distribution business into a national platform supporting school and child nutrition programs across the United States.

BakeMark supplies more than 30,000 customers throughout the United States and Canada and operates seven manufacturing facilities along with 39 distribution centers across North America.

The company offers more than 10,000 bakery-related products, including mixes, icings, fillings, flour, chocolates, frozen baked products, and Hispanic bakery ingredients.

Its portfolio includes brands such as Westco, BakeSense, Best Brands, and Trigal Dorado.

“I am excited to join BakeMark at such an important point in the company’s journey,” Leer said. “BakeMark’s long-standing heritage in the baking industry, broad product portfolio, dedicated team and customer relationships create a strong foundation for continued growth.”

Leer brings more than 20 years of food distribution experience to the role.

Industry leaders believe his operational background and experience managing national distribution systems position him well to guide BakeMark through its next stage of growth and expansion.

Clearlake executives José E. Feliciano and Arta Tabaee said Leer’s experience scaling foodservice distribution businesses makes him a strong fit for BakeMark’s long-term goals.

The company plans to continue expanding its manufacturing footprint, product offerings, and customer network across North America.

Jim Parker, who has spent more than 30 years with BakeMark, said he is confident in the company’s future under Leer’s leadership.

Parker has played a major role in BakeMark’s growth and operational development over the years and will continue supporting the company as executive chairman.
