Las Vegas, Nevada — The Fred D. Pfening Co. introduced the Enviroblender 7 (EBM 7) water dosing system at IBIE, highlighting a major step forward in bakery water management.
This advanced unit automatically measures and blends water to meet exact batch weight and temperature needs, helping bakers cut water waste and keep product quality consistent.
Ken Girts, sales engineer at Pfening, explained that maintaining precise water temperature is key for every recipe.
He noted that while water may seem inexpensive, costs rise once it is treated, filtered, chilled, heated, or pumped.
The EBM 7 helps bakeries control those costs by operating with zero waste for draws of 50 pounds or more, eliminating the need to dump water during temperature blending.
The system also reduces waste when off-temperature water is present, rejecting only until it is within 10°F of the setpoint.
Metering is highly accurate within 0.5 percent, with its electric proportional blending valve, the EBM 7 offers true plug-and-play performance without the need for compressed air.
For operator convenience, the EBM 7 includes a built-in micro PLC and a color touchscreen with three input options: city and hot, city and chilled, or city, hot and chilled.
The unit handles up to 20 recipe setpoints and delivers 200 pounds per minute at temperatures up to 180°F.
Its compact design allows wall or floor stand mounting and integrates easily with production batching control systems, making it an efficient and flexible solution for modern bakery operations.
