United States - Reading Bakery Systems (RBS) is expanding its leadership team to better support growing customer needs.
The company announces a promotion and two new hires to strengthen its sales and service operations across the region.
David Welch has been promoted to director of biscuit, cookie, and cracker product line.
In this role, he leads technical sales strategy and product development for these key product categories in the EMEA market.
Welch brings strong experience to the position, having recently served as European sales manager at RBS.
Before that, he spent over 16 years at Baker Perkins in several roles, including Chief Engineer for Biscuits and Commissioning Engineer.
His background also includes positions at Cerealto and APV Baker.
Marcus Hofmann steps in as the new European sales manager, taking over Welch’s previous role.
He joined RBS from MIWE, where he worked as a sales Manager.
Hofmann also has experience with HEUFT and Koenig Group Baking Equipment, giving him a strong understanding of international sales and project management in the bakery sector.
RBS also welcomes Andrew Walker as Customer Care Manager for EMEA.
In this role, Walker focuses on improving customer service, strengthening parts of support, and expanding modernization and retrofit programs.
He brings years of experience from companies such as Xtrutech Ltd., Rondol Group, and Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he held several technical and leadership roles.
“With a growing installed base and increasing demand for flexibility, performance, and sustainability, our customers expect more than equipment — they expect a long-term partner,” said Mike Palumbo, director of customer care. “These leadership additions ensure we are positioned to deliver that level of support across Europe and beyond.”
Overall, these leadership changes reflect RBS’s commitment to delivering strong service and supporting customers with reliable solutions in a competitive market.
