Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) Company recently introduced two new sweetener brands, SweetRight stevia and VerySweet monk fruit. Both of these brands are being produced through ADM’s partnership with GLG Life Tech Corporation, a British Columbia-based company that specializes in zero-calorie, natural sweeteners.
SweetRight stevia provides customers with the ability to reduce the sugar content in their products while still maintaining a high sweetness level. The SweetRight product line is naturally sourced from the stevia leaf and offers up to 250 times the sweetness compared to sugar. SweetRight is also clean-label friendly as it is GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe), non-GMO, zero-calorie, and plant-based. The products are available in three forms – RA, RA granular, and EMS Enzymatically Modified Stevia – all of which blend well with other sweeteners.
VerySweet monk fruit sweetener is made from the fruit of the siraitia grosvenorii plant and provides a no-calorie, sugar free sweetener solution for a variety of food and beverage products. VerySweet monk fruit is up to 200 times as sweet as sugar and can easily be blended with stevia or other sweetener products.
“More and more consumers are looking for healthier foods with natural ingredients that taste great,” said Rodney Schanefelt, Director, sugar and high intensity sweeteners, for ADM. “ADM is already helping customers meet that growing demand with our comprehensive portfolio of ingredients and flavors. Now, we’re expanding that portfolio even further by offering customers around the world a wide array of great sweeteners.”
Brian Meadows, GLG President and CFO said, “Consumers are demanding healthy, delicious foods and drinks with clean labels, natural ingredients, and reduced added sugar—together, ADM and GLG will be the go-to source for food and beverage companies looking to meet that demand.”
