Hostess Moves into Bread and Buns Market

June 19, 2015

Now you can get your bread with your Twinkies.

Next time you’re at your local convenience store picking up your favorite Hostess snack, you can pick up Hostess brand bread and buns. The brand’s bread and buns are targeted towards drug stores and convenience stores, having a shelf life of approximately two months or longer.

BakingBusiness.com reported that some of the Hostess bread products have been found for sale at various Walgreens locations.

Metropoulos & Co. and Apollo Group Management purchased the snack portion of Hostess in 2013 for $410 million when the iconic brand was heading for bankruptcy (Hostess filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in early 2012.) Today, Hostess Brands L.L.C. still manufactures favorites such as Ding Dongs, Ho Hos and Donettes.
