The World Cocoa Farmers Organization (WCFO) and the International CoCoa Farmers Organization (ICCFO) have merged in order to created a unified voice in the cocoa sector. The International CoCoa Farmers Organization will now work under the World Cocoa Farmers Organization name in cooperation with the WCFO. 

With this merger the two organizations hope to work together to solve many of the challenges cocoa farmers face in this dynamic industry. Their mission is to promote sustainability in the cocoa sector while empowering and educating farmers to produce better crops. This will better the livelihoods for farmers and their workers and allow them to better support their families and communities.

Currently 95 percent of the world’s cocoa supply comes from smallholder cocoa farmers, many of which fall under the poverty line. This demonstrates how critical it is for the sector to have a unified voice to support the entire cocoa supply chain. The WCFO recognizes the vitality of farmers in the supply chain and strives to have the voices of farmers heard and human rights met.
