AIB Launches Certified Bread Specialist-Industrial Program

AIB International, a global technology and information company for the bakery and food industry, has unveiled a new program for baking professionals. The Certified Bread Specialist-Industrial program provides bakers with the on-the-job technical and practical skills they require in this increasingly automated and robotic field.This flexible program offers a combination of online learning and instructor-led classes that can be completed during an average work schedule.

With courses such as Baker’s Math and Science, Function of Ingredients, and Bread Manufacturing Process, students will come out of this program prepared for the workforce.

AIB launched this program as a result of the American Bakers Association’s (ABA) and American Society of Baking (ASB) recent study which found that a shortage of skilled production personnel is a major issue for the industry.

AIB’s vice president of baking and food technical services, Brian Strouts, said “We know it’s an investment in both money and time to bring bakers up to speed, so we’re working to make our programs more convenient and efficient.”
